Sara Ledwith
I found Iyengar yoga after trying and enjoying a range of other yoga styles. It shone a light on zones in my body, mind and emotions that I was totally unaware of. Over time, that process has deepened and grown.
After decades as a journalist, I qualified as a Level 1 Iyengar yoga teacher in 2024. That followed four years of mentorship with my main teacher, Shaili Shafai. I have travelled widely to study with other senior teachers globally — from Pune in India to the United States.
I teach beginner and general level classes in person around Cambridge, as well as dedicated restorative sessions from time to time. I am preparing for the next level of Iyengar yoga teaching but of course, the learning never stops — including from my students.
My classes are full of action. Even when you are completely immobile.
